How do I determine how much mulch/playground cover/topsoil I need?
See our Mulch Calculator Page. Please have
this information available before ordering.
What is your minimum delivery?
For mulch products, it is 5 cubic yards.
For topsoil products, it is 5 tons (or 4 cubic yards). This sounds like a huge amount, but it actually fits in the back of a pickup truck.
To what areas do you deliver?
We deliver to all of Southcentral Pennsylvania, including but not limited to, Boiling Springs, Camp Hill, Carlisle, Dillsburg, Dover, Hanover, Harrisburg, Hershey, Manchester, Mechanicsburg, Lemoyne, Lewisberry, New Cumberland, Shrewsbury, Wellsville, York, and York Springs. We sell our products in bulk only, not in bags.
Can I pick up your mulch?
No. We do not offer pickup service. We offer delivery only.
Which forms of payment do you accept?
We prefer payment by check or cash. We accept credit cards only via Paypal. Once the total amount of your order has been determined, we can email you an invoice, which will instruct you how to pay your bill by any major credit card through the Paypal website. We do not accept credit cards by phone.
What type of lead time do you need for delivery?
We usually make delivery within a few days from the time the order is placed. However, orders can be scheduled weeks in advance. Deliveries are usually made during the weekday, so arrangements for payment and placement of the product at your home or office are made in advance of the delivery. From April to June, we sometimes offer Saturday deliveries.
Where can I see your mulches?
We have a display pile at 625 South Mountain Road, Dillsburg. It
is located in front of a school bus parking lot, near South
Mountain Elementary School. There is ample room to park
and to walk around the pile. You can also call or email our office, as
we may also be able to give you the address of a commercial property located
near you that uses our mulch.
In other mulches I have ordered, artillery spores have stained
my house. What type of mulch can I order so that I don’t have
the same problem?
In our experience, the less moisture mulch has, the less of an issue artillery
spores are. Usually, the darker the mulch, the more moisture it has.
We recommend clients with this problem order our triple-shredded brown mulch
as no water is added to it to make it compost faster. We have been advised
that RV cleaner is a good way to clean artillery spores off of siding.
Are there termites in your mulch?
Our mulch piles are up to 40 feet high and are very hot due the natural process
of decomposition. Therefore, the heat would prohibit anything from
living in the piles. Termites live in the ground and feed on wood. If
you are worried about termites, treat your house and the ground around it.
Why should I use compost?
Most soils in southcentral Pennsylvania are clay-based, which inhibits plant growth. Adding compost to your soil improves drainage and aeration, as well as increases the nutrient level. Compost also boosts the soil’s ability to retain moisture. Using compost can also reduce, or even eliminate, the need for adding costly fertilizers. These qualities all enhance plant growth, resulting in beautiful gardens.
What type of products do you recycle?
See our Recycling Services page.
